Winter Events & Announcements
We are right in the middle of a real winter up here at Whitefish Point. 2026 has been very cold, very snowy, and very gray. January was long, but now February is here and we finally have a little sun and warmth! Spring banding begins in just about one month, which is hard to believe. In the meantime, we have some events and announcements to share with you all to help lighten the winter gloom.
Only two days left until the Feb 14th deadline for the Birdathon Logo Contest! If you are an artist and have a great design you would like to submit, details are below. We look forward to seeing all of the entries!
Chris and I are giving three more presentations about the owl research at various locations throughout the state, Feb 14, Feb 15 & March 5.
Spring dates for Visit the Owl Banding registration are now live on our website under the Events tab. Since folks are already making their spring plans, we thought it might be good to have registration available starting early this year.

The Spring Birdathon Weekend is happening on May 15-16, 2026! Save the date and registration will be opening soon. We had about 80 people come together last year, and are hoping for even more folks to come and enjoy the birds and wildlife and great weather that May (sometimes) brings with it to the Paradise area.
